This year Max Köhler has been developing a body of work with a drawing machine which he has constructed. There are two strands shown here.
The first set of drawings is based on the FERET Database – a collection of portrait images that the U.S military commissioned in the mid-nineties. This collection is what much of modern research into facial recognition algorithms has been based on.
The second set of drawings are based on selfies taken in the mirror that Max has collected from social media.
